This could be a great training for you to really perfect and fine tune your Hawaiian Healing techniques. This 4 day course is a beautiful fusion of the different styles of Lomilomi Massage that I carry in my halau. In this course, the students learn a flowing, loving and effective massage routine that combines my favorite strokes from the traditional lineages from Maui, the Big Island and Kauai. The use of the forearm will be introduced, as well as other massage strokes using your hands.  There is much focus given to exploring the use of prayer in healing, and how to work with the spirits of the ancestors, and healing patterns relating to the family lineage.  Weekend classes run 9:30am - 5:30 pm daily. Part 1 focuses on the back of the body.  Part 2 focuses on the front of the body. This class is part of a series of 5 weekend classes being held in Kitsilano over the winter. Patti will teach a Temple Style Lomi routine that is sacred and trans-formative and healing on many levels.  This full body lomi routine involves many flowing and wonderfully relaxing forearms strokes, and deeper strokes that open and release stress and tension.  Students will also learn assisted stretches and Joint rotations to open the shoulders, hips, knees and wrists. Kahi Loa is a gentle healing modality which uses many different types of hands on healing techniques.  This form of healing is done with clothes on, and with no oil.
